What Is a Boudoir Photography Session?

Booking Tips, Weddings

A boudoir session is a chance to capture your body as it is now, whether that is nude, in lingerie or some combination. It really just a session celebrating your body at this stage of your life.

It is an act of self-love and highlights your worthiness.

A boudoir session can be intimidating, yes. But it doesn’t have to be. For one thing, it doesn’t have to be for anyone but yourself. The experience itself can be calm and reflective, or playful and joyous. It is a session capturing your essence and it offers a unique chance to celebrate yourself. Many choose to do this around the time of their wedding, but anytime prior to growing your family is also a wonderful time. Or when your birth journey is over!

It can be a gift to your partner.

Whether you opt to do a boudoir session around the time of your engagement, on your wedding weekend, or for an anniversary, boudoir images are truly works of art that both you and your partner can appreciate for years to come. For many, commemorating this aspect of their life is an act of love for their partner.

It is another treasured time capsule.

Once your wedding is over, all that’s left are the images. That is also true about our bodies as we move forward throughout our lives. An heirloom album of boudoir images becomes another vehicle that transports us back to an earlier version of ourselves.

Some people say a wedding is just another day; I believe a wedding is a culmination of your whole life up until that point, and a compass for where it’s going. Every piece of your wedding is an expression of who you and your partner are.

My imagery is meant to honor that.
